So what New England is seeing one of its worst winters in history? That will not stop SISU from getting out there competing, racing, running, cheering, and being supporters of each other.
On February 1st, when most people were shutting it down for racing (especially on the pavement), Rob Roman, and our ladies went out to the Frigid Fiver in Newburyport, MA. We hear it really was frigid. Rob Roman also braved the weather and stood with Kris and the Ladies as those SISU runners out in the elements. He finished his race in 52:41!
Carmela Taveras led the way for our ladies squad finishing the fiver in 37:20. Kacey Hill was not far behind her and covered the course in just 37:52. Linda Fortunado was coming off of sickness for the last few weeks, but still got out there and went for her run, finishing the course in 41:31. Belinda Juan rounded out the squad of our lovely ladies in blue, closing out the day in 44:31. Kelly LeCours was there to cheer her ladies on and snapped some great pictures for us to let us know our squad was out and active.
Next up, you guessed it...it's none other than our very own Johnny K! He was a lone warrior out there at the Horse Hill Snowshoe Run. John raced 7k for the snowshoe race, finishing the course in just over an hour! John is gearing up for the All-Terrain Runners Series Snow Shoe Race on March 7th, the New Hampshire & Northeast Snow Shoe Championships. Hopefully, hew will be joined by a few more SISU teammates in just under a month! Way to get after it, John!
We promised you selfies with Will Leer and we will deliver (no pun intend!). Teammates DJ Raboin, Mike Grasela, Brandon Davis, and Matthew Germain made a trip to the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix at the Reggie Lewis Center on February 7th to cheer on some national talent who was visiting Boston for the games. Not rain, nor sleet, nor snow will keep these guys away from a track meet. Unfortunately, we hear they caught a fever...and the only prescription...is more action on the track! So here are just a few selfies from our guys at the games.
Stay up to date on our latest races and team events!
