WHY I RUN: For me running has little to do with fitness or speed, actual running goals or even exercise. I run for sanity, clarity, peace, freedom, purpose, goals, trials. I run to be stronger for whatever obstacle comes my way. I run to think clearly and be more present. I run for my daughter. I want to teach her to keep pushing. I want to build endurance to keep up with her. I want to teach her to value herself. I run for the reset it gives me to start each day fresh, having accomplished something already. I run to remind myself I can do hard things. Considering all the roles I have as a wife, mother, student, employee, sister, friend, etc., I run to remember who I am.
